THINK OUTSIDE THE DRUM

Educational Outreach Video Series

Education is a pillar of Third Coast Percussion’s mission. TCP’s “Think Outside the Drum” is a fun, interactive, and educational presentation introducing the building blocks of music (rhythm, melody, and timbre) through active participation in a series of interactive activities including clapping, singing, and a listening game. Students learn about the extraordinary range of percussion instruments that can be found in cultures around the world, as well as in their own kitchen cabinets.

This virtual educational outreach activity is presented by Beaches Fine Arts Series for elementary school students. The presentation is divided into 5 short, 15 minute videos that may be used at the convenience of teachers.
