Dorreen is a 60-year resident of the Beaches, a Fletcher High School grad, and has maintained involvement in BFAS for nearly three decades in a variety of roles, including coordinating volunteers and serving as Vice President of the Board. She served on The BFAS’ Strategic Planning Committee and many others. Her commitment is evidenced by nearly three decades of service to BFAS, which she says springs from the organization’s uniquely free programming, educational outreach efforts, and enhancement to our area’s quality of life.
Dorreen was awarded a BA Degree in English from Florida State University and a Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Florida (UNF). She retired from UNF after 33 years in progressive jobs in Public/Media Relations/Internal Communications as well as in the UNF Division of Student Affairs.
Her other volunteering in the community includes completion of UF’s Master Gardener program, which she put to work at the Beaches Historical Museum’s campus, as well as animal advocacy work with Animal Care and Protective Services’ Cat Committee.
