You don’t want to miss this fabulous duo, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han, returning to BFAS on Friday, February 9 at 7:30 pm in an extraordinary concert featuring works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Grieg. Don’t miss this great couple, known as “the power couple of chamber music.” (Wall Street Journal) Doors open at 6:45 pm and seating is first come, first served for this free concert. A reception follows, hosted by Beaches Episcopal School. with a mixed media art exhibit by Kaytee Esser. See you there!
Beaches Fine Arts Series hosts Organist Adam Brakel in a free concert on January 21 at 4:00 pm at St. John’s Cathedral, 256 E. Church Street, Jacksonville. Doors open at 3:15 pm and a reception follows, hosted by the St. John’s Cathedral Choir and AGO Jacksonville chapter. The concert is also sponsored by the American Guild of Organists, Jacksonville chapter. Mr. Brakel’s program includes works by Sweelinck, Buxtehude, and Bach, with an Americana suite of well known tunes. As part of our Educational Outreach programs, Mr. Brakel will also present “Introduction to the King of Instruments” for over 150 elementary school children on January 22. This event is open to schools in the communities we serve, and we provide bus funds for transportation. Please call our office for more information.
Don’t forget that BFAS will bring the fabulous Irish ensemble DANÚ in “A Christmas Gathering” THIS Sunday, December 17 at a special time: 5:00 pm. Doors open at 4:15 pm for this free concert at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea, 465 11th Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach. DANÚ, the fabulous Irish ensemble of singers, instrumentalists, and dancers, will bring “A Christmas Gathering”of traditional Irish music to St. Paul’s by-the-Sea on Sunday, December 17 at 5:00 pm, followed by a reception with art exhibit by Elbert Shubert.
