Yesterday, BFAS mailed its annual donation letter, along with our 2017-2018 fabulous schedule of concerts. This season is our 45th year of bringing world-class artists to North Florida in FREE concerts and award-winning Educational Outreach programs, and we could not do it without your help! If you are not on our “snail mail” list, and would like to receive one of our letters with schedules, please do let us know. Renowned French concert pianist Alexandre Tharaud closes out Beaches Fine Arts Series’ 44th Season of free concerts on Sunday, April 30 at 4 PM at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea in Jacksonville Beach. He will perform Scarlatti Sonatas; Ravel’s “Miroirs”; Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphonie No. 5; and Rachmaninov’s “Morceaux de Fantaisie”, Op. 3. The famed jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis will join the wonderful UNF Jazz Ensemble 1 in concert on Friday, March 3 at 7:30 PM at UNF’s Robinson Theater. Join us for this free concert, the culmination of a week-long residency at UNF, our annual collaboration with UNF’s Great American Jazz Series. We are grateful to the Lazzara Family Foundation for its support of this event. As always, FREE and FABULOUS!
Mark your calendars to see the Cuban group, The Habana Boys, in their first American tour, on Sunday, February 26 at 4:00 PM at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Jacksonville Beach. Doors open at 3:15 PM. This choreographed extravaganza is comprised of four outstanding classically-trained tenors, plus Piano, Bass, Drums & Guitar. Their program includes instantly recognizable opera arias, selections from Broadway, Classic Pop Hits from the 50’s-70’s, and naturally, several of the most recognizable Latin Popular Hits. As always, FREE AND FABULOUS!
Join us as we welcome the Grammy-winning Harlem Quartet to the series tomorrow, Sunday February 12 at 4:00 pm. Doors open at 3:15 pm and seating is first come, first served.
